Opening Keynote: Travel in divisive times
Wednesday, 9 October – 9:45 – 10:30
Room: Auditorium 6/7
The Frommer guidebooks were born from the rumble of World War II, and created a splash because of their ability to put hope above fear (Europe on $5 a Day is still the best selling guidebook of all time). Pauline Frommer, daughter to and partner of founder Arthur Frommer, will discuss the genesis and journey of the guidebooks, how they are being reshaped to address today’s travellers’ needs, what travel information can and should be today, and the challenges all in the travel industry face in this increasingly divisive era.
