Desiree Peters
International Community and Partnership Manager, WYSE Travel Confederation
Desiree studied tourism and started her career as a tour guide for MICE groups. Keen to work with more engaged travellers, she moved to the world of backpacking at Stayokay. She worked in sales and group reservations and chaired the European Group Marketing Scheme within Hostelling International. She has gained wide experience of the tourism marketplace and a good understanding of destination development after 15 years in tour operating to Arctic Europe.
Desiree joined WYSE Travel Confederation in early 2020. Her role is to work with and manage the Sector Panels, as well as take the lead on general member outreach. In addition, she is active in event sales, membership recruitment and retention.
Desiree is Dutch and lives in Amsterdam. Look out for her when she’s rowing in Amsterdam’s iconic canal district!
