International students are valued members of academic and cultural exchanges across the United States. Visiting international students play an important role in local economies across the country, having contributed more than 42 billion dollars to the US economy in 2017, according to the US Department of Commerce. This presentation by Michael Dolce of the Bureau of Consular Affairs will provide an overview of US visa classifications for international students and the visa process and discuss the impact of COVID-19 on international student visitors to the US, including visa operations, Presidential Proclamations and National Interest Exceptions. The session also provides answers frequently asked questions about F, M, and J visas.
