The rise of coffee tourism: Mapping culture, curiosity and community
Date – Wednesday, 24 September
Time – 15:40 – 16:00
Location – Workshop area, CCL
Coffee is a universal language, transcending borders as a sort of passport to discovering community in a city. Sofia Ferraz, co-founder of Porto and Lisbon Coffee Weeks, will share international stories of coffee professionals who moved abroad with minimal language skills but found community, purpose and a career through specialty coffee. She’ll also discuss how young travellers are planning entire city visits around cafés and how Tasteology has embraced this with city maps, local experiences and storytelling. Join Sofia to understand coffee’s power as a cultural equaliser and a pathway for youth mobility and connection.
