Programme

Targeting Canadian youth for work and travel opportunities

Thursday, 20 September – 12:20 – 13:00
Workshop area – Moffat room

International Experience Canada (IEC), managed by the Canadian federal government, facilitates opportunities for youth between the ages of 18 and 35 to work and travel in over 30 partner countries. While over 18,000 Canadian youth per year have gone abroad, IEC would like to increase Canadian participation in the program. IEC recently worked with WYSE Travel to analyse of Canadian respondents of the New Horizons IV Survey who travelled abroad through a working holiday type visa. In this workshop, IEC will present the findings of the analysis, helping organisations to better understand the travel preferences of young Canadians and effectively promote the benefits of work and travel experiences to Canadian youth.
