Terri Hamilton

International Studies Travel Specialist, David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies, Brigham Young University

While attending Brigham Young University in 1987, Terri L. Hamilton found herself in Mumbai, India, embarking on her first field study experience. Spending the next four months studying nutritional practices and beliefs of pregnant and lactating women in rural Southern India, this experience ignited her passion for providing students with opportunities to experience cultural immersion.

Terri is committed to guiding students through the process of exploration and experience in new cultural environments as they prepare to serve the people and nations of the world — a commitment that extends beyond classroom theory to engagement with and practical experience in a variety of international settings.

A member of the British Educational Travel Association (BETA) since 2007, Terri has served on the International Committee for Student and Youth Travel Association (SYTA). Working with Brigham Young University’s International Study Programs, Terri specializes in international travel planning for faculty-led study abroad programs.

When she is not traveling or working with students and faculty, Terri enjoys time at home with her five children and seven grandchildren, as well as playing with her two Scottish Terriers, Liam and Hamish.
