Luís Araújo holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and has deepened his knowledge in economics, law, and management, applying these skills in various roles as a legal advisor, member of executive boards in the companies where he worked, and as President of three tourism organizations. He has built his career in the tourism sector, both in the private and public spheres, over the course of more than 30 years.

In the private sector, he was involved with several companies within the Pestana Group (the largest tourism and travel group in Portugal) in Europe and South America. In the public sector, in addition to serving as Chief of Staff to the Secretary of State for Tourism between 2005 and 2007, he contributed to the growth and sustainable development of three organizations between 2016 and 2023: the European Travel Commission (ETC), NEST – Tourism Innovation Center, and Turismo de Portugal, IP.

Since 2024, he has been a speaker at various events dedicated to tourism and innovation and has also been engaged in consultancy and supporting several social responsibility projects.
