Kristy started her career in youth tourism in Dublin working with Hostelworld Group in their HQ. When returning to Australia in 2006 she worked for Oz Experience for a short time before re-joining Hostelworld to run their Oceania operation from mid-2007 as Regional Manager South East Pacific where she grew the business for a decade. Kristy served five years with the Backpacker Operators Association of NSW, the last three as President as well as three years on the Backpacker Youth Tourism Advisory Panel as Vice Chair.

In July 2017 Kristy started with Tourism Australia as the Industry Relations Manager for Victoria, Tasmania, South & Western Australia as well as the youth sector nationally. In this role she is pivotal in connecting Australian Tourism suppliers with Tourism Australia and assisting them in understanding how best to work with Tourism Australia. She is also responsible for developing and implementing an Industry Engagement strategy that integrates into Tourism Australia’s overarching industry communications program.
