Gennady Babankov has been supporting private sector and grant-funded professional and educational exchanges, language and culture immersion training, and study abroad programs since 2000. Gennady currently serves as a Director of Strategic Partnerships at J-1 Visa Exchanges, Inc., a boutique sponsor of J-1 intern, trainee, and teacher programs. Previously, he directed exchange visitor programs at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and helped manage high-profile public policy initiatives funded by the U.S. government, such as the Fulbright Teacher Exchange (DoS), Overseas Language Flagship (DoD), and Open World (Library of Congress). During his career, Gennady supported global mobility and immigration departments of large international corporations, designed and promoted DE&I initiatives, organized cross-cultural training events, supported language and culture immersion programs, and directed field operations in Russia, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan. Gennady is an attorney, with a Juris Doctor degree from the George Mason University School of Law; he also holds degrees in history and art history from Johns Hopkins University, Central European University, and Lomonosov Moscow State University. Gennady currently resides with his wife and son in Fairfax, Virginia in the United States.
