A special tour of culinary Lisbon was organised for delegates attending the World Youth and Student Travel Conference (WYSTC) for the first time this year. The unique meet, greet, and eat experience was made possible by WYSTC sponsor and WYSE Travel Confederation member bitemojo, an app offering self-guided food tours of more than 10 cities around the world.

Sixty participants were grouped with a small team of “App Captains”, all WYSTC veterans who volunteered their time to welcome new delegates with a friendly and fun activity in WYSTC’s home city for 2019 and 2020.

“We were happy to cooperate with WYSE Travel Confederation in creating this unique experience to discover Lisbon off-the-beaten track, where great local food was the campus, and have first-time delegates to mix and socialize using bitemojo”, said Michael Weiss, co-founder of bitemojo. “We are extremely satisfied by the feedback we received which proves again that self-exploration through food is one of the best ways to travel and discover new destinations”.

Each group took one of three 2km walking routes featuring historic sites and delicious bites of Lisbon. All groups tasted 3 different bites representing the Portuguese cuisine, along with many points of interest and entertaining group challenges the groups successfully overcome.

Following a year of growth and more than 200,000 bites sold through its app, bitemojo recently announced it is seeking a new round of investment for European expansion. Learn more about bitemojo during the WYSTC workshop on Thursday, 10 October, Tour operator? Amplify your activities with bitemojo.
