Destination Canada and Travel Gay Canada have announced a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the two organizations to strengthen the promotion of the LGBTQ2 tourism industry in Canada.

“Canada is already one of the most welcoming countries in the world for LGBTQ2 travel,” said the Honourable Bardish Chagger, Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and Minister of Small Business and Tourism. “I was proud to announce Government of Canada support for Travel Gay Canada earlier this year, and I am happy to see that Destination Canada and Travel Gay Canada will also be working closely to further develop and promote Canada’s diverse and inclusive tourism industry.”

“Working with Travel Gay Canada gives us great insight into the LGBTQ2 traveller and the potential for the tourism industry in Canada,” said David F. Goldstein, Destination Canada’s President and CEO. “Canada is warm, welcoming and open to all travellers from all over the world.”

“LGBTQ2 tourism presents a great opportunity for Canada to be positioned as the first choice for travellers” said Colin Sines, Travel Gay Canada’s Executive Director. “Destination Canada and Travel Gay Canada together can inspire LGBTQ2 travellers to experience all that Canada has to offer.”

Destination Canada and Travel Gay Canada will work together to promote experiences that international LGBTQ2 travellers can have when they explore Canada, while also sharing research and information to grow Canadian tourism.
