During this workshop, key findings from the latest global STAY WYSE survey on distribution trends among global youth travel accommodation (YTA) providers will be presented. Previous STAY WYSE research has revealed the Hostelworld and Booking.com duopoly, but where do things stand now? With OTAs estimated to account for 46% of all YTA bookings, which OTAs take the largest share of the pie? Join this session to find out!

The workshop will also shed light on the accommodation operator attitudes toward sharing economy-based accommodation booking systems, such as Airbnb and Wimdu, and the effects that terrorism and economic instability have had on business in the youth accommodation sector.

The STAY WYSE survey, conducted during July 2016, represents more than 600 responses fromĀ 89 countries and a total of 2,590 establishments with over 250,000 beds.
