Seminars

 

Objective

WYSTC seminars are hour-long sessions focused on current issues and topics of interest to professionals across the various sectors of youth, student and educational travel, as well as the broader tourism industry.

Location and timing

Seminars and keynote sessions will take place at the Lisbon Congress Center. You must have a valid WYSTC delegate badge to enter the seminar rooms. Seminars run concurrently with business appointments therefore you will need to block the time for your seminar session accordingly in the business appointment scheduling system Marcom.

Presentation deadline

Your presentation is due 1 October 2019 to Wendy Morrill

Speakers and panellists

• Review the outline prepared for your session and any discussion questions assigned to you.
• Submit your presentation by 20 September 2019.
• Plan your presentation independent of Internet connectivity; there may not be a reliable Internet connection for presentations.
• A laptop, screen and mic will be set up for you – do not bring your presentation on your laptop.
• Arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the session for sound check and briefing.

Moderators

• Prepare a welcome to the audience
• Prepare an introduction of the speakers/panellists, their organisation(s), and the topic(s) to be discussed during the session.
• Review the outline prepared for the discussion panel.
• Anticipate potential questions that may arise during Q&A with the audience and consider how to best field these.
• Arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the seminar for sound check and briefing.

Workshops

Objective

WYSTC workshops are short and informal sessions intended for professionals of youth, student and educational travel to present and discuss hot topics and trends, as well as share practical knowledge and tips with industry colleagues.

Location and timing

Workshops take place in the WYSTC Trade Hall at the Lisbon Congress Center. You must have a valid WYSTC delegate badge to enter the Trade Hall. Most workshops are scheduled for 20 minutes and run concurrently with business appointments. You will need to block the time for your workshop accordingly in the business appointment scheduling system Marcom.

Presentation deadline

Your presentation is due 1 October 2019 to Wendy Morrill.

 

How to prepare

• Prepare for a 10-15 minute presentation plus 5 minutes of Q&A time.
• Submit your presentation by 20 September 2019.
Prepare your presentation notes separately as you will not be able to view the laptop during your workshop presentation.
• Plan your presentation independent of Internet connectivity; there may not be a reliable Internet connection for presentations.
• Flat screen TV, wireless remote and mic will be provided – do not bring your presentation on your laptop.
• Arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the start of your workshop.
• Plan a focused, yet engaging workshop, including practical questions and suggestions that motivate attendees to take new ideas forward in their own business settings.

WYSE Travel Confederation claims permission to record, edit, transcribe, archive, duplicate, distribute and reproduce any written or visual material submitted and created in connection with and including the seminars and workshops delivered at WYSTC in any and all media throughout the world.
